With the highly anticipated release of Denis Villeneuve's sci-fi film Dune comes to the long-awaited red carpet glamour from the stars of the film. The star-studded film features Timothée Chalamet in the lead role of Paul Atreides alongside Zendaya in the supporting role of Channi, two of Hollywood’s most influential actors in the fashion world. The film also features the likes of Oscar Isaac, Rebecca Ferguson, Jason Momoa, and more. The cast has stunned in a variety of ways while walking the red carpet for the premiere of Dune across the world, particularly Zendaya who has pulled out all the stops with unique looks at each premiere.
Zendaya stepped out in a custom-made Balmain dress of beige leather sculpted specifically for her body at the Venice Film Festival, arguably her most iconic look from the film’s promotion. The gown was specifically made for the actress, structured and draped across her body to appear soaking wet. Balmain revealed on Instagram that the gown was created by Olivier Rousteing using a special cast model of Zendaya’s bust. The dress was paired with a large Bulgari emerald necklace as her stylist, Law Roach, continued the wet look in her hairstyle.
Her looks continued to shine as she stunned at the Paris photocall in a maroon Alaïa crop top and skirt adorned with feathers. For the London photocall, the actress decided on a more casual yet intricate Vivienne Westwood look. While showcasing new bangs, the actress wore a corset top draped in chains and brass medals paired with a red checkered skirt and nude heels. She continued to carry into the London premiere in an ivory piece from the Rick Owens fall 2021 ready-to-wear collection. The gown was notable for its large shoulder detail paired with a singular long sleeve and defined sequin detail.
Timothée Chalamet was also not one to shy away from bold pieces during Dune’s red carpet events. The actor made his red carpet appearance at the Venice Film Festival in a tailored sequined black Haider Ackermann look, paired with a set of Cartier rings and bracelets. Chalamet decided on a sleek blue Tom Ford suit for the Paris screening after making an appearance at the Paris photocall in a Burberry mixing different shades of brown. Chalamet decided on a bolder look for the London photocall, opting for a light blue and white Stella McCartney suit adorned in mushrooms, a look from her Spring 2022 collection. The suit was styled with white Chelsea boots that made the actor stand out against his fellow costars. The actor took an edgier approach when it came to the London premiere, dazzling in a black Alexander McQueen suit from his Spring 2022 collection. The suit features a slashed sleeve jacket with silver zipper detail wrapped around both sleeves as well as straight trousers and leather black boots.
While the younger stars of Dune made a large statement on their red carpet appearances, other notable actors and actresses from the film stepped out in their own unique styles. Rebecca Ferguson’s Dior gown at the Venice Film Festival featured a large pink ruffle shaped similarly to the giant sandworms in the film. Jason Momoa avidly promoted Dune in London while wearing a maroon Henry Poole & Co. velvet coat with sleek black trousers.
